Freeman Beauty #BAREFOOTbliss

I don't like to praise or bash anything until I've given it a fair shot. After two months, I think I can share some fair words about the Freeman Beauty BAREFOOTbliss Spa Professionals massage cream. Yes, two months! This is tried and true. I used to be a bath and body product junkie in college. I bought every lotion, scrub, cream, bath bomb, lip balm, face mask, face wash, and body wash that struck my fancy in the moment. I found some gems but also found a lot of just-okays and duds. This cream falls into the Gem category.

Influenster sent me a voucher to redeem at Walmart for a free product from the Spa Professionals line. (Thanks, Influenster!) The former product hoarder in me has loved it throughout the summer. I've used it daily for two months, and it is so much better than the greasy creams laced with promises of soft skin. (News flash: Greasy is not synonymous with moisturizing.) This BAREFOOT cream is equally light and lasting, and it has a light, crisp and clean scent.

While I don't mind feet, I'm not going to permanently document my own feet on the internet as proof of product use. But it is Boone-approved, so there's that! ;)

Give the BAREFOOTbliss Spa Professionals products a whirl, and let me know what you think! (Massage cream: $4.97 at Walmart)

* I received this product complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes and to participate in a brand challenge. All opinions are my own. #contest

Thank You

Books given to me by a good friend last year. I'm not ashamed to admit I was doing pregnancy reading before I was pregnant!

I've spent the last week soaking in the outpouring of love from friends and family following our announcement last Thursday. Holy smokes! You all know how to make a couple feel loved! We've received the sweetest and funniest calls, e-mails, and cards. I can't thank you enough!

Now that I'm in the second trimester, things have become more real. A little bump showed up when I was pushing 13 weeks, and it feels like it's growing at warp speed now. I need to have a heart-to-heart with this child to let him/her know that Mommy isn't built to deliver a giant baby. Grow, baby! Grow! ... But not too much? This bump may be small, but I can't resist touching it. I know. I, too, used to think that barely-showing pregnant women touched their bellies just to get attention, but it's not true! It's hard to resist! Rubbing my belly feels good to me, and I'd like to think it's somewhat soothing to the baby too. Maybe? I'm also feeling more "myself" this week which is a huge relief. Weeks 7 through 13 were borderline miserable. Yes, I knew there would be nausea, but no one had been as honest as "It will be a small victory to work full-time, let alone make it to work on time and avoid the sudden urge to throw up in the trash can under your desk." (Yes, I was late to work a handful of times, and yes, I came face-to-face with my trash can once. I also knowingly skipped two school assignments, because I that crummy.) I struggled to function sometimes, but several weeks and only one bout of tears later, I think I've washed my hands of the first trimester woes. Still keeping my fingers crossed. Bring on the second tri!

So that's where I'm at. I'm feeling much better these days, I finished out my last class with an A-, I'm getting back in the swing of things at work, and I start my next two classes next Tuesday. Oh, and I'm looking forward to a three-day weekend! I've also realized that blogging has completely opened up my pregnancy world! I have so many women at my finger tips who are willing to share stories and tips, and it has been so helpful!

All this to say, I'm doing well, and THANK YOU for all the support! :)

My Mom Turned 58 and Started a Travel Blog!

Can you believe this lady is 58 years old?!

Today is an exciting day! It is my mom's birthday, and I get to celebrate her in blog world, because... she recently launched a blog of her own! Give me a moment to gush, will you?

My mom is all things that moms are: nurturing, maternal, diplomatic, and compassionate -- but she is so much more than just a family woman! She is a creative, a bookworm, an avid traveler/tour guide/travel agent, an animal lover, a fashionista, a coffee lover, and a writer. Now that she has retired from her "day job" of many years, she has more time to spend time with family and invest in the things she loves. She's sharing it in her new life and travel blog, Life is a Highway. You'll find travel deals, vacation tips, and personal stories.

Pay her a visit, and wish her a happy birthday. She's pretty fantastic! Although blogging has felt like my thing for the last couple of years, I couldn't be more excited for her to jump in and fall in love with it the way I have.

Happy birthday, Mom, and welcome to the blog world!

Where I've Been (Which is Nowhere, Really)

Consider this my very loose explanation of where I've been (which is nowhere but work and home, really). This is my timid re-entry to the blog with the hopes that I still have some blog friends out there. Forgive my absence? :) Here is my life lately in photos (from my new-ish camera!) in no particular order. I apologize in advance for the cat overload, but they're so damn pretty, and they're the only living subjects that are at home lately. (Insert usual complaint about Husband's travel schedule for work here.) I can't help it.

So hello! What's new? Happy Monday!
