The Girl Behind The Blog #6: How Blogging Has Changed Me

Believe it or not, it's time for another vlog!  For this month's Girl Behind The BlogAshley and her co-host Sarah have asked us to reflect on how blogging has changed us.  These questions served as a nice reflection for me, because I started blogging one year ago (albeit with a private blog shared with 13 friends and family members).

Mr. TBS likes to remind me how well-connected I am now that I have blogging-turned-real-life friends who do so many neat things and have such great life experiences to share.  Some of my blogging friends are now people I text, hang out with, and talk with on the phone and on Skype!  Blogging has changed me in so many ways, but here is my four-minute version.  (I'm sorry I exceeded the time limit, Ash!  It just wasn't happening this time!  Ha!)

The posts mentioned in my vlog:
The Lost Art of Keeping in Touch (my first post)

Thanks for sharing this, Lindsay. It is so true what you say about the human experience. I've found that the blogging community has really helped me feel like no matter what I go through someone else has gone through it too. Blogging has also opened me up to a whole world of other women like me that I didn't even know existed 5 months ago... Women like you!

I just love you Lindsay! It is so amazing the close community that sharing our lives on the internet can form. The support of blogging is one of my favorite things!

I love the way that you can really see your personality through your vlogs. I know that I have been changed because of those I've met through blogging, including you!

I didn't even know that there was a link up today! Maybe I'll participate too!

You are absolutely right about choosing our words carefully because the internet IS forever. I am so thankful that you were able to connect with so many people through your story with Matt. I cant imagine how hard it was to actually press publish so I am so thankful you were so encouraged by it. Love you billions! (p.s. you NEVER go over, so you're forgiven ;-) )

I love watching your vlogs. It definitely can be challenging to determine what words we choose to write. We may make a few mistakes here or there but that is what makes us grow!

I agree that blogging is such a motivation!! I was so happy that you posted about your high school boyfriend, because I knew it would touch so many. I know that I learn from each and every blogger, and can only hope to be able to inspire someone else :)

I love your vlogs, bbff :) And I loved your post about Matt. I never ended up commenting on it, but it was beautifully written and so very brave. It made my heart break for you, for him, and for his family.

I loved this! I mean, obviously. I loved what you said about choosing your words carefully. I try to do that but I know I could be so much better at it. A good thing to remember :)

LOVE YOU.

I love how you phrased this- "heightened awareness of crafting my words with tact." Definitely something I strive for! Always love your vlogs- you're seriously so lovely!

Girl, I agree with you - the internet is definitely forever... and being respectful and mature is so important! Your post on choosing joy after teen loss was beautiful, it really touched me, and your honesty touched many readers, I'm sure.
You're a gem, girl. You really are!
