What A Difference A Weekend Makes!

Cows welcoming me to my new neighborhood this weekend!  This little slice of Heaven is just five minutes from modern conveniences, so I have the perfect balance of country and city living.  Bliss!

Happy Monday!
Whew!  What a difference a weekend makes!

I'm happy to report that our move was a gargantuan success, and I don't think it could have gone any smoother.  This is largely in part to my husband's master skills at packing and planning.  What would I do without that guy?

After driving two small trunk loads (I drive a Prius) to the house last Thursday and Friday after work, I made a small dent in our stuff.  It was also a time saver, because we were able to simply put odds and ends in the car.  We didn't need to worry about playing the inevitable game of Tetris or Puzzle Master.  You know, that constant battle of fitting oddly-shaped pieces into a box without leaving too much wiggle space.  On Saturday, the movers showed up at 8:30am, and from there, it was go time!  Those movers were fast!  They had our stuff loaded and dropped off within 3 hours.  Considering one of those hours was spent on the road, they were really fast!

One thing you should know about Mr. TBS and I is that we would rather skip breaks and stay up until 1:00am to get our home set up instead of rest.  And that's exactly what we did.  But the best part is that we were moved in, organized, and decorated within 24 hours.  Yeah, YOU HEARD ME.  We are moved in, folks!  We're going to the store tonight to buy a few little things, and I'm sure we'll buy decorative pieces we want over time, but all of our current possessions are in place.  It's such a relief!

I had a terrible headache all day yesterday, but it was worth it.
I get to go home to a cozy house instead of clutter today!

And how lucky am I that I'm married to someone who tackles moving in the same way?  I can only imagine how frustrating it would be to have different moving styles.  (Yikes!  Nightmare!)

Even better:
I'm married to a man who will vacuum, mop, dust, and cook lunch...
while I sleep a headache away.

YEAH.
Who won out in this marriage?
*pointing to self*
I officially pity people who can't even get their spouses to take out the trash.

So there you have it.  If you want a guaranteed easy move, just marry Mr. TBS.  But good luck with that for as long as I'm alive!  (No, that was not an invitation to bump me off.  Don't get all creepy on me.)

Thank you for all of the love over the weekend!  It was a successful move!
And now I'm back in (blogging) business!

Yey for cows! :) I am the same way, I love to move, set up and decorate asap or I don't feel settled. The hubs thinks I am crazy but sometimes you gotta do it!

Yay for a quick and successful move! I'm a get-it-all-done-before-sleep mover, too, and I can agree that the completely exhausted sleep that comes after that is SO rewarding! My favorite moment is waking up the next morning (using that time frame loosely...) and look around at a new house that's now been claimed by our stuff. Also, can Mr. TBS start "how to rock your wife's world (in a non-dirty way)" seminars?!?!?!
Again, congrats, and you enjoy your new house!

WOW! Moved in AND decorated already? That is probably a record. We've been at our house for two and a half years and we STILL haven't hung up some of our pictures. :)

What an awesome feeling to start the week off with your house all put together.

Good job!

Way to go getting moved in so quickly!! We've been here for quite a while and have yet to do any decorating at all (the hubby wants to wait until we get a house to start doing that) so I'm definitely impressed!! I hope we can see some pictures once you get everything set :)

awee yayy! i'm so glad your move was a success and it hasn't taken you weeks, or even days to get settled in! Amazing how you did it in less than 24 hours! Unpacking is such a hassle to me that I tend to leave things in boxes for as long as I possibly can and only take out what I need the moment I need them. I'm awful. And then packing is just as bad. Apparently I can't win when it comes to moving. Haha anyway, it looks like you've moved to a great place with city and country at your feet. And with a great husband to top it all off! :)

I am the same way with moving! I usually can't sleep if the house is a giant mess, I'd rather just get it over with then have to come home to a mess of boxes and such. Plus how fun is it to decorate a new place and find places for all of your things!

Will we get to see pics of the new place??

I love living in the country!! I grew up there but have been a city dweller for the past 15 years... You are a lucky girl but that's why you married him, right!? Can't wait to see pics of your cozy new place.

Yay for living in the country again!! I'm so jealous of your neighborhood cows :) And moved in and decorated within 24 hours?!? Girl you need some kind of award. My husband and I have the same moving style...of moving everything in and then staring at it for months until we decide we should unpack/decorate. I wish I could get everything done so quickly!

P.S. I want to see some pictures!
