Before You Knew Me

Here's something you didn't know about me:

I've been writing TBS for 2.5 months, but I started blogging last summer when only friends and family populated my audience.  I didn't plan to blog today.  But I was inspired by to share a few old posts.  I really love reading Jenni's blog, Story of My Life, and I was curious to read some of her early posts.  You know, before she had 2,708 readers.  I love her post called The First Anniversary of the Worst Day of My Life!  She is such an authentic writer.  A sad but funny story!

I think my blog voice has changed over time, and I'd like to get back to my more personal and journal-like ways.  I feel like I'm gaining new readers every other day.  It's exciting to meet all of you!  Whether you've been a reader since February or yesterday, here are a few posts that you probably haven't read yet that will tell you a bit more about me:

If you wouldn't mind, I'd love for you to leave a comment with a few of your old posts that you think really reflect who YOU are!

I love this post SO MUCH. I desperately want to go back to old school blogging when it was like journaling. I love that so much more than modern day blogging. I think I would enjoy it a whole lot more - writing and reading. I am going to take some time and read some old posts. Here is a post I wrote about my first time blogging - maybe you will get a sense of who I am (or who I was).

I love this! I've been reading some of my "secret" blog (yeah, I have/had one) and thinking of re-working some of the (not so Mom-friendly) posts into my main blog... Yay for getting to know you better! Also, I may have commented-up on some of those old posts. Basically, I adore you.

Ok...you look SO CUTE with short hair!!!!!!!!! Super cute!!!!! It almost makes me want to cut my hair! My hair used to be shorter than it is now and I have been so tempted to chop it off....but then I see my long hair now and your long hair now and I remember how long it took me to grow my hair out this long! LOL!!!

Super cute post today!

Aw, we all have horror stories with our hair. The first time I blog, I didn't intend for others to read it. It's like a place where I can spill all dark secrets and petty concerns. But eventually, it did change.

Dude you rocked the short hair. But I was totally jealous of your long locks while we were skyping.

Jenni is a great writer...I love reading blogs that inspire me to improve my writing and storytelling :)

I read all the way through your blog. BAM! That's some bbff love. Of course, I never would have thought to do it if you hadn't mentioned it.

I loved reading through these posts Lindsay! I especially commiserate with the Gold Star Syndrome post.. I've got it, bad.

Reading back through some of my old posts, I realize that I like to use a little bit (well a lot) of sarcastic humor & honesty in my posts. But now I'm a little afraid of offending people.

Oh very cute post. And great idea. I tried for a while to "grow my blog" and sponsor other blogs. But I found myself not being authentic. I found myself writing things I thought other people wanted to read. And that sucked. Now I write cuz I have a funny poop story to tell. And usually just that. And I did a little linky thing a few months back where I asked people to link up their first blog post. It was fun reading what people wrote the very first time. We should do a part two and have some new people link up.

I'm excited to read your older posts! I think it's always interesting to see how a blogger's voice develops over time. It's part of the growing process, I think, especially for bloggers who focus intently on the writing aspect. I know my own voice has changed in the four years I've been blogging.

Here are a few posts from the two years I've been blogging at Annie's Musings:
